Faith That Participates
Matthew 25:14-30 is the parable of the talents. It challenges us, as
hearers, to be good stewards of what we have been given. This last
Sunday, January 24th UBC was given a challenge. All participants
received $5. Over the next six weeks we are going to discover God with
a faith that participates. We are going to give our time, energy,
resources and most importantly, creative thought processes to
developing this money into something. In six weeks we are going to
collect the fruit of people’s labors to see what God has done. We are
learning to give.
Chris and Britt Bernard have been married for a
year. They recently went from a happy couple who moved into their first
home, to a happy couple with five children!!! Britt’s parents are
missionaries in Haiti. After the earthquake rocked Haiti, Chris and
Britt committed to helping her parents by caring for five of her
younger siblings for an interim period. We are going to use the money
that we raise to be a blessing to the Bernard/Livesay (Britt’s parents)
family.
