Chili Cook Off
Friends, UBC turns 27 in January. To celebrate and commemorate this event we are asking church champions, that’s you, to bring your best culinary skills to the table and share your secret family chili with us after church on January 23.
Youth and 5/6
Gentle reminder that youth starts on 1/19/21. Also reminder, our 5th and 6th graders will start meeting on Wednesdays.
3rd Wednesday
Hello friends, in the spirit of some new goals and because we are bursting with talent within our community, we will be gathering on the third wednesday for particular formational opportutnies. Our first one is January 19th from 6-8 P.M. That evening we will have a conversation with our very own Dr. Jonathan Tran to discuss his new book Asian Americans and the Spirit of Capitalism.
Town Hall
On January 23, after the chili cook off, we will have our quarterly town hall. In this meeting we will give you updated info on UBC behind the curtain kind of stuff.
First Sunday Meal - directly after church
Our first Sunday in February, Katie Valenzuela will be discussing race & diversity, why stories matter, and our responsibility as the Church. Each of us has a role to play in dismantling White supremacy and lifting up humanity. We hope you’ll join us. Please email toph@ubcwaco.org to sign-up so we know how much food to order. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for kids to eat.
